Meet our Summer Interns

We're excited to introduce the MMC Corp summer interns and get to know them a little better.

TIM DUVAL

Tim Duval Headshot

Tim Duval is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) pursuing a degree in Psychology. At UNL, he is involved in the Club Tennis Team and Alpha Psi Business Fraternity.

A Prairie Village, KS, native, Tim was drawn to MMC Corp’s internship through previous knowledge about the company and a mutual connection. This summer he is working with the Human Resources Department assisting with daily task, researching recruitment information, and supporting different aspects of the team.

Tim said what sparked his interest in human resources was speaking with individuals who worked in the field upon completing their psychology degree. “It sounded interesting to me. I also met with advisors at my college and they helped me figure out what I would do well in and be happy with.”

Tim plans to work in human resources after college, starting in recruiting, then shifting to a generalist role or employee learning and development. So far, Tim said he has enjoyed his time at MMC Corp. “Everyone has been very nice, welcoming, and excited to help me learn.”


Tim’s favorite quote is from Henry Thoreau.
“Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.”

JACOB HOWEY

Jacob Howey

Jacob Howey is a senior double majoring in Computer Science and Music at the University of Oklahoma (OU), where he is also involved in marching band, jazz band, and many other musical ensembles.

This summer, Jacob is working with the Information Systems Department writing Structured Query Language codes to create reports on different data sets.

Born in Overland Park, KS, Jacob became invested in technology at a young age. “I always loved working with computers. I tried to teach myself C [Computer programming language] in middle school to make a text adventure game. It was a lot of fun, so I kept taking coding classes in high school and college.” Eventually, Jacob wants to be a software developer, or SQL Developer.

Jacob said he is making the most of his time with his internship. “My favorite part has been coming in and immediately contributing by creating something that helps the people here do their own jobs easier.”

MANISH LAMAL

Manish Lamsal Headshot

Manish Lamsal is a senior at Park University (Park U), in Parkville, MO, where he is pursuing a degree in Software Development and Cybersecurity and is involved in The National Society of Leadership and Success. This summer he is working alongside the IT Department as a Cyber Security Intern.

Originally from Pokhara, Nepal, Manish found interest in technology during middle school. “I started learning some programming languages and began to troubleshoot own computer at home,” said Manish.

At Park U, he is involved in National Society of Leadership and Success. Eventually, he wants to become a cybersecurity engineer, or penetration and vulnerability tester, one who scans systems to identify potential exposure to viruses and exploits the weakness of networks.

Manish says his favorite part of his internship has been the friendly people and the freedom to learn new technologies as well as team support for learners.
Manish’s favorite quote is from Benjamin Franklin.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”


WESTON LITTRELL

Weston Littrell Headshot

Weston Littrell is a senior at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. He is double majoring in accounting and business. This summer Weston is interning with the Accounting Department.

Originally from Osage City, KS, at Baker he is involved in Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, ParMentors, Inter-Fraternal Council, and is a mentor for freshman orientation.

Weston said he has always had interest in both math and business, “I decided to put those two together and focus on accounting.”

So far, his favorite part of his internship experience has been the people. “They are incredibly friendly and are always willing to help, no matter if it’s just a short question or advice about your career.”

ERIC ODONNELL

Eric ODonnell Headshot

Eric O’Donnell is a junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia pursuing a degree in Business Marketing and is a member of Phi Delta Theta.

Eric is from Overland Park, KS, and this summer, he’s working with the Purchasing Department, tracking spend data and assisting with our first-annual Purchasing Summit, a charity event that supports Homes for our Troops, a partnering national charity.

Eric became interested in marketing after taking a class in high school which led him to learning about purchasing. “I am learning something new every day that I can apply to my career now and later,” said Eric about his internship experience.

Eric said a quote that speaks to him is by Tony Robbins.
“The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.”







DAEGIONA WILSON

Daegiona Wilson- Summer Intern

Daegiona is a junior pursuing a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Convergent Journalism and New Media at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS.

At Southwestern, she competes in cross country and track and field, is a sports commentator for Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference events, is in Student Government Administration, and is a Sports Editor for the student newspaper, The Collegian.

This summer she is working with the Marketing Department, designing and writing social media content, copyediting, and assisting with other daily internal and external communications tasks.

Originally from Wichita, KS, Daegiona became interested in communications after attending a summer camp at Southwestern during her middle school years. “That camp sparked my desire to pursue a degree in Journalism. I knew that I loved to talk, and I am passionate about sports, so I decided to combine the two.”

Eventually, Daegiona plans to become a sideline reporter and a real estate agent/flipper.

So far, her favorite part about her experience at MMC Corp has been her manager, who she describes as embracing and relatable. “She knows that as an intern, many questions will be asked. She has been patient and a backbone for me so I can talk to her whenever I have a question or need guidance.”

Daegiona’s favorite quote is from Malcolm X. “If you don’t have any critics, you’ll likely have no success.”
